Triple coffee roasters are based out of San Francisco, they are technologists from the Marina District that are using their talents to make the world a better place. Triple has blasted onto the scene by sourcing some of the freshest beans and experimenting with different processing methods to deliver some truly special coffee to your cup. I had picked up a sample pack with 4oz each of some of their favorites in The Flight product bundle. This includes their espresso, their Pacamara (natural), and the feature of this post the Catuai (washed). I’ll start out by saying that if you have been searching for a coffee bean to add to your morning routine, to look no further. I was absolutely blown away by the smell, and taste of this coffee. Just WOW! My only regret is that I did not get a large bag of these beans.

Aroma
Floral
But so incredibly complex that it is hard
to describe what it does to your senses
Tasting notes
Floral
Fruity - sweetness
Acidic - citrus
Since I have such a small bag I’ll admit, I did not want to brew these beans through any method other than the tried and true pour over method. That means that for this review I put the drip machine and the French press on the shelf and let the pour over do the talking. They sourced a Honduran bean (1650m) as their choice of vessel. From the bag, to the grind, to the pour it feels like you've been transported to a flower field, mixed with jasmine and roses. It is so incredibly bright through every step of the brewing process. And did I mention that this bean was #2 for Central American Coffees on Coffee Reviews! What an amazing feat. On their website they claim that it is reminiscent of African coffees, I would put the flavors of this akin to those of an Yirgacheffe with its bright acidic flavors. I can’t particularly imagine brewing this through any method other than a pour over, so if that is your preferred method, I would say you are one step ahead and you should buy this coffee immediately. You will find while drinking these beans that they grab onto your taste buds and with a gentle inhale you can experience all the floral notes and a prolonged sweetness that is similar to rich fruits.

Triple Coffee Co. mentions on their website that this coffee is generally only available in Japan, hence the name ‘Japan Exclusive’ but they pulled some strings to allow for the greater world to get their hands on it. And for that graciousness, all I have to say is, thank you.
I cannot recommend these beans enough, with the high marks Triple Coffee Co. has been able to achieve I am excited to try and review the other offerings that they have. The Pacamara (natural) was chosen as the Good Food Award winner. It just seems that no matter what Triple has to offer, they will find themselves on the podium. I highly recommend that you click on the link below and purchase a bag of these beans if you are looking to enhance your morning coffee routine. If you make a cup of the Catuai for a loved one, it will trump a bouquet of flowers on aroma alone and the taste is promised to be unforgettable.
